What a pain

With my back hurting I haven't been able to lift much, or do much for that matter. Laundry piled up, the house got VERY dirty, and when I go shopping the bags sit in the garage for me to bring in one at a time or for Chris to take care of when he gets home. I hate that I can't do all I want/need to in a day. I'm only 30 for goodness sake. Chris and I have a big weekend ahead of us painting the guest room and rearranging everything so we can separate the boys again. It's such a big project and I'm not sure how much help I will be to Chris. The physical therapy is helping and I'm waking up without pain now which is a big improvement. I am also hoping to get in to a chiropractor to see if that can help some too. I just hate feeling old at 30.

Bus Stop

This is Zach every morning. With Megan in her driveway. Talking about whatever first graders talk about. He doesn't want a kiss from me anymore, too old for that I suppose. He looks so old. I can't believe how fast he is growing up, makes me want to stop time.

allergy shots

Every Wednesday we head over to West Chester to get allergy shots for Zach. It never fails that Aiden decides to take a nap on Wednesdays and I have to wake him up which leads to a crabby boy for the evening. Ugg.  Anyway, Zach has about 6 more months of these shots, possibly less if I double up for the summer but it's an hour round trip and the whole process takes less than 15 minutes and there is the whole gas price thing.

This is one of Aiden's favorite activities during therapy, it's called a "hand bike." He's a crazy driver but he is learning.

May 25th

Our neighbors are having a high school graduation party for their daughter today so we get to have our two favorite neighbor dogs over for the afternoon. Meet Barney and Max. Max is the reason we decided to get a dog of our own. He is a sweetie and Izzy's best friend :)

May 24th

Our pool opened today and even though it was only 70 degrees and the pool was probably about 57 degrees or so, the boys really wanted to go. This was my favorite picture, Zach had just done a cannonball into the pool and discovered just how cold it really was :)

May 23rd

We had our garage sale today. We only made about $180 and we weren't able to sell our couch or our bookcase (our 2 big items) but we are going to Craig's list them and hopefully get some takers.

May 22nd

Today was nice enough (finally) to have playgroup at the park. Aiden had fun playing with some friends and having a picnic lunch there.

May 21st

Aiden's last day of preschool was today. It wasn't as sad for us as it was for some of the other parents because Aiden will be going back next year and be with the same teachers. I'm so glad that he had such a wonderful place to go 3 days a week and he has been asking if he can go to summer school :) He has come a long way in just 9 months, I can't wait to see what next year brings.

May 20th

Zach has learned how to jump off of his swing in mid air. Unfortunately he was wearing a whistle around his neck and it got caught in the swing giving him a nasty rope burn. He hasn't jumped off his swing since.

We had our retakes for our family pictures. I'm hoping that these don't become corrupt!  These went better though and I'm hoping we got a lot of good ones to hang on our wall.

After a brief period of not being pro at Wii bowling, Aiden has once again regained his title.

a boy's treasures

Zach was using a laundry basket for all of his treasures so I decided to organize them into a set of drawers. This drawer is all of his "misc" treasures. I'm glad I was able to capture this picture of a 6 year old's treasures.

This is us on a rainy, cold morning. If there is time before school/appointments we cuddle under a blanket on the couch. It is a tight fit but that's the way we like it.

We never keep soda in the house...too tempting. I bought some for the party I had yesterday and I am now enjoying some of the leftovers. Yum.

Friends 5/13

Last year I hosted a brunch around Mothers Day to celebrate my friends and all that they do for me. I decided to do it again this year. Not everyone was able to be in the picture, differing schedules make that hard, but I did get most of us in there. These are the women who listen to me vent, who give me advice on anything and everything, who make me laugh, who drive me places when Aiden brakes the car door and it won't close, who babysit my kids when I need someone, and who always make me feel wonderful about who I am and how I'm doing as a mom. I don't know what I would do without them.

Happy Mothers Day

My boys love to give me jewelry.  Lucky me. Aiden gave me a necklace and Zach picked out a purple flower ring for me. Such sweet boys. I also got breakfast in bed, lunch at Panera, and an  adventure trip to Dorothy Lane in Dayton, the best part was time with my boys.  It was a wonderful day.

iPhone 5/10

On Saturday Chris came into my scrapbook room and gave me a Mother's Day gift early--an iPhone.  I didn't open it for a day and half because it is so much money and we kept going back and forth about whether I should keep it. In the end I decided to keep it. And I LOVE it  :)

Aiden 5/9

Aiden's last day at school is the 21st and lately he has been asking quite a bit if he can go to school during the summer because "I love Miss Mary and Miss Cathy"  Such a sweet boy.

Zach 5/8

Zach has become quite the smartie lately. Not in a good way. A recent conversation at dinner went like this:

Zach: I want an MP3 player.

Chris: You're not getting one right now, eat some fruit boy.

Zach: (pointing his empty fork at Chris) I got your fruit right here.

Chris: (eyes wide, veins bulging pointed his empty fork at Zach) Well I have your MP3 right here.

Not good to sink to his level but he's such a sweet kid and the smart aleck remarks are so out of character for him.  Luckily they are still few and far between but I think we're in trouble when he's a teenager.

teacher appreciation 5/7

This week is "Teacher Appreciation Week" so for me that means lots of baking. 13 dozen cookies and 3 dozen brownies later..... I don't mind doing it, they deserve a lot more than cookies and brownies.

I called the Doctor about my MRI. My brain is fine as are my sinuses but I do have an abscessed tooth. I go to the oral surgeon on Monday to have an x-ray if it is a problem with the tooth I will have surgery on Wednesday, if it's not I have to find another oral surgeon that takes my medical insurance.

The girls came over to play today. Zach and Megan had fun playing with McDonald's American Idol toys. It was so funny watching them "rock out"  :)

Heard from our photographer....seems our pictures were "corrupt" We have reschedule for the 17th. Hopefully these pictures don't get corrupted. If they do we'll have to look for a new photographer.  :(

album project 5/4

I've been wanting to make tags for my albums for a long time, so that I know what is in each album. I finally was able to get to this project done!  I'm so happy with the result.   :)

Nana Mary 5/3

My parents came to visit over the weekend so they could see the boys play soccer. Unfortunately Aiden's game was rained out, they did however get to see Zach play. Later in the day, after the sun came out, mom went for a spin on Zach's bike :) The boys love playing with Nana Mary and Papa Dan.

Buster loves his daddy! Usually after a walk Buster will continue to follow Chris around for about 30 minutes just to be near him. So sweet.
